The world’s largest tech event CES concluded on Jan. 8, 2023 in Las Vegas, with a record-setting 3,200 exhibitors and more than 100,000 attendees participating. ITRI Pavilion was a success this year, attracting numerous visitors from all over the globe to its exhibits in Sports & Fitness, AI, Robotics, and ICT technology. Those who didn’t make it to the show can seize the chance explore the digital venue by Feb. 28.

On Jan. 5, the opening day of CES 2023, ITRI exhibited the codeveloped energy-saving 5G private network system with leading ICT player PEGATRON Corporation and announced their new collaboration on the CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service) Solution. “This solution can help networking and communication equipment manufacturers upgrade the capability and halve the time to market of their 5G private network products,” said Dr. Edwin Liu, ITRI President. “We hope that the collaboration will strengthen the 5G private network industry chain and assist suppliers in marketing their products globally.”

Brian Comiskey, Director of Thematic Programs at Consumer Technology Association (CTA), commented on ITRI’s showcase at CES 2023. “This exhibit is quite exciting. I am looking at innovation that fits the overall theme of the show, which is how technology is solving challenges,” he said. Among ITRI’s exhibits, he was especially fascinated by the autonomous mobile robot’s (AMR’s) getting access to food delivery, the connected fitness technology for better health empowerment, and the AI Aquarium due to its fun, educational purpose, and interactivity.

Visitors were also impressed by the interactive experiences and eye-catching demos at ITRI’s booth. An industry attendee tested out the Digital Twin for Sport Guidance with Vital Sign Sensing, commenting that he would like to have one on his Peloton machine because the system can show him more about his body and exercise status.

ITRI’s Highlights at CES 2023

  • AI Aquarium is the world’s first smart aquarium that helps observers identify marine life in real time via eye-tracking and gesture recognition.
  • Cubot ONE: Indoor/Outdoor AMR is an AMR that can cross signalized intersections, take elevators, and travel on rugged ground to provide door-to-door delivery services.
  • Utilizing sensors with trained AI, RobotSmith automates high-quality grinding and polishing of metal workpieces to ensure process quality.
  • iSportWeaR is a fitness and sports training innovation that uses non-contact, low-power radar sensing technology for long-term health management.
  • Incorporating non-contact detection technology and big data analytics, Digital Twin for Sport Guidance with Vital Sign Sensing provides advice on biomechanics and coordination for indoor bikers.

In addition to these highlights, ITRI also exhibited other innovations, including a smart clothing technology with haptic feedback iMetaWeaR for sports experiences in the metaverse, the Athletic Armband for Contactless EMG Detection, Athena Orchestrator—O-RAN SMO & RIC, and the energy-efficient SiC Electric Powertrain Controller for electric vehicles.
