Juiker is Taiwan’s first B2B real-time communications platform.
As the digital economy grows, preserving data privacy and ownership has become a big issue. To address challenges such as how to keep information safe from social networking apps, ITRI spinoff LoFTech has developed Juiker, a B2B-focused cloud communications software platform that highlights enterprise/national security and prevents data leakage.
Juiker integrates instant messaging, corporate directory, server call-back, an AI calculator for telecom rate plans, and other innovative features to offer convenient and safe communications services. It comes with several features that ease enterprise communications management (see the table below). It enables centralized cloud management and its information encryption mechanism creates a secure environment where unauthorized subscribers are not able to access the cloud corporate directory. Moreover, the virtual PBX service is provided, creating a next-generation cloud solution that reduces installation and maintenance fees for PBX and handsets. Functions such as the tracking of the latest contact information and receiving voice calls offline are also included to facilitate efficient business communications.

Juiker allows corporations to manage data risks yet enjoy the convenience of B2C OTT (over-the-top) apps. On top of that, Juiker is a SaaS solution that telecom operators can use to integrate with existing information management systems. It also enables interactive transactions with integrated customer services for e-commerce, and messaging among devices for IoT applications. Data are stored on the Federated Cloud that the government can run on its own, minimizing the cybersecurity risks of using foreign messaging apps which store data overseas. The localized service subsequently makes Juiker compete better against B2C OTT solutions such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and WeChat.

This March, LoFTech cooperated with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on launching a new OTT app named Karo. Karo instantly became popular upon going online, having been downloaded 250,000 times in just three days among Vietnamese users. LoFTech Chairman Ching-Yen Tsay stated that in this cooperation, the Juiker team applied its Federated Cloud Technology to assist VNPT in creating its own business communications platform which is safer, faster, and cheaper. While the Taiwan team provides the platform services, the data remains in Vietnam. With data independence, telecom operators are expected to capture larger domestic market share, expand their global reach with minimal regulatory hurdles, and provide new value-added services to their customers.
VNPT Vinaphone Deputy General Director Pham Anh Tuan commented that VNPT hopes to replicate Juiker’s successful model, adding that the jointly developed Karo-OTT service, with the use of the app and the management platform, is estimated to reduce costs by 30-50% for their clients.

“Juiker is Taiwan’s first B2B real-time communications operations model, with which LoFTech can rapidly grasp business opportunities among the emerging mobile-oriented markets such as Vietnam, marking a new page in software outsourcing services,” stressed Paul Huang, Founder and CEO of LoFTech.
It is hoped that more software startups will be able to link up with international firms as LoFTech does, extending Taiwan’s soft power across the globe and shifting Taiwan industry’s developmental focus to the digital economy.
